A war which should never have
been fought and which bled a generation and the British Empire
dry. The first world war was fought because the leadership of
Europe would not stop it. The feeling of inevitability among the
nations on the brink led to 4 terrible years on the Western Front
and around the world with the repetition of slaughter for a few
feet repeated again and again. The result -the seeds were sown for
an even more terrible conflict. |
